Sainsburys pet insurance offer

Sainsburys Bank has announced a ten per cent online discount on pet insurance.

The offer is available to online purchasers until October 10th 2006.

Pet insurance is a fairly new competitor in the insurance market.

Until fairly recently, the service was mostly provided to UK pet owners by the Veterinary Pet Insurance Co (VPI), which still forms a baseline comparison of the sectors value for many consumers.

Pet owners have also been warned recently by Petinsurance.com to treat pet insurance as you would treat private health insurance.

The market now has many policies with different levels of cover and many issues to consider, the online pet insurance sites spokesman Curtis Steinhoff has said.

"There is a lot of important provider background to consider, eligibility factors to discover and plan intricacies to understand when it comes to any type of insurance," he explained.

Sainsburys policy was one of the best buys identified by Defaqto in its 2005 survey, Pet Insurance is a Minefield for the Uninitiated.
