British Gas has announced the introduction of a new tariff that is likely to prove popular with customers.
The utility firm is confident that gas prices are reaching their limit and has unveiled its Fix and Fall offer that sees energy tariffs for dual fuel customers remain fixed for the next year before dropping by five per cent at the end of 2007.
The news will be welcome to British Gas customers, who recently saw the company raise its prices for the second time this year.
Many other utility firms are likely to also increase charges over the coming months, as the costs of oil and gas continue to rise over the coming year.
Despite these growing gas prices, British consumers can look forward to future reductions in their bills, according to MoneyWeek.
As British Gas new offer indicates, prices are expected to drop by the end of next year as gas supplies to the UK improve as alternatives to the declining North Sea gas stores are found in Europe and Asia.
