The buy-to-let market is increasingly attractive to young investors, it has been revealed.
According to a study by the Mortgage Trust, of those investors who are in possession of one investment property, almost 26 per cent are between the ages of 26 and 35 years old and make up 16 per cent of the buy-to-let market in possession of a maximum of three investments.
"Traditionally buy-to-let has been perceived as something for the more mature investor," said John Heron, managing director of the Mortgage Trust.
"However, recently we have been witnessing an increase in the number of younger professionals choosing to make a considered and long-term investment in property," he added.
Six months ago, 14 per cent of those buy-to-let investors within the 26 to 35 age bracket owned up to three properties for investment purposes.
The Mortgage Trust was established in 1986.
