Alliance and Leicester Savings Account
Alliance and Leicester provide four savings accounts offering different ways to save and access your money: DirectSaver, Premier Regular Saver, Online Saver and Direct ISA.
The DirectSaver is a long term savings account with an enticingly high interest rate limited to investments over £5,000. Interest is earned daily and paid monthly and withdrawals can be made without notice, however, no interest will be earned during the month in which the withdrawal is made. Access to the account can be made via internet or telephone.
The Premier Regular Saver is a fixed term account that is only available to Alliance and Leicester Premier Current Account holders. Over the duration of the one year term account holders must transfer a set amount each month (between £10 and £250) from their current account. The balance earns a very high, fixed interest rate paid on maturity; however, no withdrawals are permitted.
The Online Saver Issue 2 account is an easy access, online only savings account. Though it has a lower interest rate than the other Alliance and Leicester savings accounts it allows 24/7 access with no notice required for withdrawals. Interest is paid annually with balance limits are £1 to £25,000.
Finally the Direct ISA Issue 2 allows you to save up to £3,000 per year with tax free interest. This account lets you save regular monthly amounts or make one off payments from your linked account. No notice is needed for withdrawals and access is available online or via telephone.
