Asda

Founded in 1965 by a group of farmers from Yorkshire, ASDA, which then owned 229 supermarkets, was purchased by Wal-Mart in 1999. Asda (Associated Dairies) is the second largest supermarket in the UK (second to Tescos). As well as providing general merchandise throughout the UK wide supermarket chain, ASDA now offer financial services sold both in the supermarkets and online. Currently ASDA provide credit cards, child trusts, car, home, pet, travel and life insurance.
