Autonational Rescue's breakdown cover policies are generally similar to others on the market but are packaged in a different way. They offer a basic starter package, Roadside SuperService, which must be taken but can be augmented by extras. This base package provides free roadside assistance (1 mile or more from your home) and local vehicle recovery (to nearest garage) with a free emergency telephone number and a message service to inform friends/family. There are 4 add-ons that can be attached to this package: Caravan/Trailer SuperService, extending your vehicle cover to your caravan or trailer; Emergency Travel/Accomodation, should you breakdown 25 miles or more from your home and same-day repairs are not possible; Home SuperService, for breakdowns within 1 mile of your home; and, lastly, Recovery SuperService, which entitles you to have your vehicle and passengers taken to a destination of your choice should you breakdown.

All prices for these packages are fixed, so you can mix and match and choose exactly which options you think you require and they can be bought for either 1 or 2 vehicles (with a 50% discount on the second car). There is a reasonable discount if you opt for all the cover features, ‘Total SuperService', as well as a substantial discount for ‘nearly new' cars (1 or 2 years old). Additionally, they operate a No Claims Discount system that provides customers further 25% discount on their premiums if they have not had a breakdown in the 12 months previous to taking out a membership.

Since prices are fixed there is no online quotation system, rather an application form that can be completed and submitted online. All in all, Autonational Rescue's breakdown cover is highly recommended for its low prices and ‘pick and mix' cover system.
