Zurich Insurance Company was founded in 1872 in Zurich. It was originally called Versicherungs-Verein. It wasn’t until 1922 that Zurich moved into the UK market. Zurich also operates the Eagle Star brand and Allied Dunbar. Within the UK Zurich has noticeably sponsored the Zurich Premiership rugby league since the year 2000.
