The Post Office has announced its credit card may now be used abroad with no commission charges.
Its new package also includes an increase in the interest-free period for balance transfers from six to eight months and three months without interest on new purchases.
Gary Fitton, head of the Post Office credit card, said: "People become frustrated when they see it is costing them more to use their credit card abroad. We have listened to this and we have acted."
"Now our customers have got one of the best deals going," he added.
Standard rates are 14.9 per cent APR for the classic card and 13.9 per cent APR for the platinum product.
The Post Office also offers a low rate facility, allowing purchases between £500 and £2,000 to be paid over a period of 12 months at a rate of 6.8 per cent APR.
Other credit providers that allow commission-free purchases when abroad include Nationwide and Saga.
The Post Office provides over 78 currencies in cash, travellers cheques and its new prepaid travel money card, which it claims increases security and convenience.
