Sainsburys Bank has noted strong performance in credit card comparison tables published by consumer advisor Which?.
Its comments came in response to a report published by Which? slamming supermarkets provisions of financial services in general.
However, Sainsburys stated it has frequently been praised for its life insurance and savings account.
"Sainsburys Bank offers great quality financial products, all of which offer value for money and regularly appear in best buys," a spokesperson for the bank said.
"Our credit cards have consistently appeared in best buy tables in national newspapers for the past two years and we provide a range of insurance products with quality features and benefits."
The bank noted that it has won over 30 industry awards since its launch in February 1997.
Credit cards provided by other big-name supermarkets were named "distinctly bad value" by Which? after it found annual interest can be as much as £153 more than on cards provided by high-street banks.
However, Sainsburys was one of three short-listed for offering "decent" deals.
