Halifax has presented a new package which offers interest-free credit card balance transfers and new purchases.
The bank is inviting its customers to consider its nine-month and 12-month packages with typical APRs of 9.9 per cent and 15.9 per cent respectively.
And it recognises that using a credit card balance transfer is an ideal way to delay paying interest on gifts bought in the run-up to Christmas.
Peter Jackson, head of products at Halifax, said: "Shoppers who have yet to buy their Christmas presents could benefit from a card with an extended zero per cent deal on purchases."
He added that customers who have already bought their Christmas presents may save money by taking advantage of the interest-free offer for credit card balance transfers.
However, the bank noted that there is a three per cent handling charge on transferred balances.
A flat rate card is also offered by Halifax with a fixed rate of 5.9 per cent for both credit card balance transfers and new purchases.
Halifax offers charity cards for the NSPCC and Cancer Research UK which donate 25p out of every £100 spent using the card.
