Halifax has announced the introduction of a number of new features and cosmetic upgrades to its online banking website.

Launched with a new visual feel, the website offers a number of enhancements including a fresh homepage design, in addition to a more straightforward menu structure and a "refreshing new look".

Halifax currently has in excess of 5.5 million registered users of its online banking service.

"Our new online banking service offers a great new look along with improved navigation and few features to make using it even easier than before," said Shoomon Perry, head of e-commerce at Halifax.

Among the new features on the site include an improved transfer facility between banking and savings accounts and the ability to modify or apply for an overdraft limit on certain accounts.

Halifax offers a range of financial products and services, including credit cards and personal loans.
