For the many Brits who enjoy taking their home with them on holiday, the AA has launched a new type of vehicle insurance.
The AAs caravan insurance is expected to be a big hit with the estimated 620,000 owners in the UK and has arrived just in time for the Bank Holiday rush, when thousands are expected to take to the M5 to Devon and Cornwall or head to the Lake District.
The firms caravan insurance offers the security conscious owner extra bonuses, with discounts made for customers who have fitted security features and tracking devices as well as large reductions in premiums for those with no claims.
Gerry Barrett, head of caravan insurance, explains that the most common mistake when insuring a caravan is not checking that the policy covers mainland Europe, adding that "AA Caravan Insurance offers European or worldwide cover".
"Upturned caravans, branch-shaped dents and contents scattered down the M4 are just some of the claims made by Britain’s caravaners," he continued.
