Young drivers are being encouraged to compare car insurance costs to see if they could save by More Thans new pay-as-you-drive system.
DriveTime, a new policy being trialled by More Than, uses in-car telematics to track what times the vehicle is used.
Customers making use of the DriveTime initiative will receive a 40 per cent discount on their insurance policy in exchange for agreeing not to drive their car between 23:00 GMT and 06:00 GMT.
Mike Holliday-Williams, managing director of More Than, said: "DriveTime provides a fantastic way for young, safe drivers to avoid being on the roads at the most dangerous times and can also save them a significant amount off their insurance costs."
A fee of £25 is charged if the car is driven within the restricted hours, following research by the insurer which showed 912,000 young people have been involved or know someone who has been involved in an accident at night.
Road Safety Week runs from November 6th-12th and is this year aimed at young drivers, who account for 13 per cent of licence holders yet 29 per cent of deaths in road accidents.
