More Than is encouraging environmentally-conscious drivers to compare car insurance costs with its reduced premiums for green vehicles.

The advice follows research from the insurer which found that 48 per cent of Britons are concerned about the effects of their car on the environment.

A further 80 per cent stated that increasing costs associated with running a vehicle are a major worry for them.

As a result, More Than is urging drivers to compare car insurance premiums with new green policies it is introducing.

Mike Holliday-Williams, managing director of More Than, said: "The launch of our eco-car discount for all alternative fuel vehicles is another way were encouraging our customers to go green."

"Were encouraging customers to do their bit for the environment by incentivising and rewarding green behaviour," he added.

Drivers of alternatively fuelled vehicles are now being offered a discount of up to 15 per cent on their car insurance premiums by More Than.

Customers purchasing their car insurance online may also receive a 15 per cent discount along with free roadside assistance breakdown cover, claims More Than.
