Drivers of new-model Minis are being invited to compare car insurance costs with alternative policies by online insurer elephant.co.uk.
By lowering the price band of new Minis, elephant.co.uk suggests that savings of up to ten per cent may be made possible.
The decision follows the news that new models of the compact car are now available, including the convertible Mini One Sidewalk.
Ceri Assiratti, managing director of elephant.co.uk, said: "Minis are great little cars and have a reputation for retaining their value and being very economical to run.
"We are delighted to be able to help owners of the new Mini models to save money and we hope that they are encouraged to try us for their insurance."
Reductions in car insurance premiums have been achieved by reclassifying the vehicles to a lower price band, according to elephant.co.uk.
The insurer advised that the Mini One Sidewalk has been listed in price band six instead of seven, while the Mini Cooper Sidewalk has been classed within group nine instead of group ten.
Mini Sidewalk models feature leather upholstery, metallic paint and 17-inch alloy wheel hubs.
