Britons looking to save money on their car insurance may not have considered one option - switching to a motorcycle instead.
However, advice from the AA suggests that such a move could prove economically sound.
Ian Crowder, public relations manager at AA Insurance, explains that car insurance costs are frequently higher than motorcycle insurance premiums.
Meanwhile, a range of other benefits are also able to be achieved by moving to a motorbike instead of a car.
"Theyre easier to park, theyre economical and they do tend to be somewhat cheaper to insure as well," Mr Crowder says.
As motorcycles are also not subject to the congestion charge, London residents could find two wheels to be financially better than four.
Switching modes of transport purely due to the lower cost of motorcycle insurance might sound strange to some people.
But research reported by Post Office this month found that almost a third (29 per cent) of motorbike riders did so to save costs on running a car.
