Tesco has announced 50 per cent off home insurance in their summer sale.
Both buildings and contents insurance policies are included in the deal, which will be available online until August 6th.
The offer covers only the first year of a policy, but a sale quote can be held for up to 90 days to fit in with renewal dates.
Those without access to the internet will receive a 45 per cent discount during the sale.
"People look forward to bagging a bargain in the summer sales so why shouldnt they enjoy the same from their home insurer?" said Allan Burns, head of Tesco Home Insurance.
"While some companies offer a discount on either buildings or contents, we wanted to make it a real summer sale by reducing all our policies to half price," he added.
According to the Association of British Insurers, the average annual total spend on house, motor and contents cover is £963 per household.
