Home insurance can make May Day worry-free

Home insurance can make May Day worry-free

Friday 2nd May 2008

Cheshire Building Society notes that a well tailored home insurance policy could provide peace of mind for many this May Day.

The bank holiday may share its name with a distress call, but protecting possessions could leave many homeowners free to enjoy the day off work, the financial services provider suggests.

Karen Torson, partnerships business manager at Cheshire Building Society, says: "The May bank holiday weekend can be an exciting and chaotic time for those travelling and it is all too easy to forget how simple precautions can protect your home.

"You can also tailor your cover to protect your personal belongings whilst away from home."

Closing windows is suggested as doubly useful as it not only prevents access to thieves, but can also protect against any bank holiday rain.

The organisation recently recommended that homeowners should assess their mortgage options proactively before developing affordability concerns in the current turbulent financial climate.ADNFCR-8000200-ID-18579443-ADNFCR©
