Summer holidays may no longer provide solace from work-related concerns, according to new research.
American Express has found that many individuals are failing to escape the office as mobile devices mean they are never truly out of reach of their bosses.
Meanwhile, the value of such items can also mean they need greater levels of travel insurance cover.
As a consequence, the firm suggests individuals may wish to consider its annual prestige travel insurance, with single-item coverage of up to £750.
Chris Rolland, head of American Express Insurance Services, comments: "The fact that workers are able to carry their emails and work around with them even when theyre not in the office means that mobile technology is not necessarily saving time but in some cases it is extending the workload."
Luckily, research from financial data provider Defaqto reveals that the cost of travel insurance is at an all-time low.
Average prices for coverage when travelling to either Europe or the US have fallen by between five and seven per cent for a number of different durations of vacation, the organisation has found.
