Football fans could be wise to ensure their travel insurance covers likely mishaps before heading to Russia for the Champions League final, it has been warned.
Mike Pickard, head of travel insurance at esure, explains that the hurry to jet off could lead to some people not being covered.
But he notes that a large event such as the final brings with it an increased risk of mishaps which insurance could protect against.
"With so many people travelling on the same day, delays are highly likely," Mr Pickard advises.
"Its vital to plan ahead and read the small print of travel insurance documents to make sure youre covered."
He recommends seeking cover against baggage losses and delays, while esure also reveals that 26 per cent of travellers do not check what documentation they need before journeying abroad.
But football fans were recently told that their match ticket for the final would allow one-day entry to Russia should they not have a valid visa to travel.
