Post Office is recommending its One4All gift voucher as an alternative to last-minute shopping for presents.
The suggestion comes in response to research conducted by Post Office which found over 250,000 men nationwide leave their shopping until Christmas Eve.
And 12 per cent of men said they will travel over 100 miles in search of the perfect gift for a partner or loved one.
Hugh Stacey, head of gifting at Post Office, said: "It seems that people are literally going to great lengths to shop for Christmas presents."
"The new One4All gift voucher from their local Post Office could certainly help save on time and shoe leather," he added.
Average figures determined by the survey showed that people travel 26 miles - the length of a marathon - and visit at least 11 shops before finding the right gift.
In total, UK shoppers are expected to cover 1.2 billion miles in the run-up to Christmas, in pursuit of the perfect present.
Post Office gift vouchers are available in denominations from £10 to £100 and may be spent in thousands of outlets, the company says.
