Business banking may suffer due to "workaholic" Britons putting their health at risk, says insurance provider More Than.
According to More Than, the impact of forgotten New Years resolutions and unused gym memberships can result in businesses losing man hours and earnings.
This, it cautions, can have serious consequences, especially among smaller businesses which may have to cease trading if employees are absent.
Mike Bowman, head of insurance at More Than Business, said: "Sole traders and small business owners are the most vulnerable sector of the British workforce."
"Its important they keep their health in tip-top condition to avoid taking extended periods of time off work," he added.
In response to the trend, More Than Business has set up a 24-hour helpline to provide advice to small businesses on how to maintain employee health.
The insurer recognised that this can reduce stress and increase both health and overall productivity.
More Than Business claims to "understand and appreciate the time and cost pressures" facing small businesses and tailors its products to match those requirements.
