Alliance & Leicester has been named the best provider of current accounts for business banking for the fifth year running.
The financial services provider revealed the accolade, granted to it by independent finance guide Business Moneyfacts.
Meanwhile, the awarding body commended Alliance & Leicester on its service as best overall business bank and most innovative product.
In all, eight nominations were achieved by the institution for its provision of services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), more than any of its competitors.
Steve Jennings, director of business banking, said: "SMEs are waking up to the fact that not all business current accounts are the same."
"Alliance & Leicester commercial bank is transforming the business banking market by offering better value products," he added.
The banks free business current account offers fee-free cheques, direct debits and withdrawals for SMEs.
