How to use our money saving deals
There are three main types of deal in our money savings section. Each one works in a slightly different manner, so make sure you know how they work in order to maximise your savings.
Printable vouchers:
Printable vouchers are primarily used for restaurant deals, but are also employed on occasion by retailers and tourist attractions.
If you want to take advantage of a printable voucher deal just click the ‘Print It’ button on the deal page. In some cases this will allow you to print the voucher immediately; otherwise, this will take you to a registration form, where you will need to provide the retailer or restaurant with some details (usually just name and email address), after which you will either receive the voucher immediately or they will email it directly to you.
Before redeeming your voucher, always check the full terms and conditions that are printed on it and check the voucher date to make sure that it has not expired.
Discount codes:
Discount codes, often referred to as voucher codes, are most commonly used for offers from online retailers.
We display discount codes clearly on each deal page so that you know exactly what the code is and what discount it provides.
To take advantage of these deals you will need to copy the code, either by writing it down or by using the copy function on your computer – make sure you copy it exactly using capitals and spaces etc.
Once you have noted down or copied the code you can click on the ‘Use Now’ button to take you directly to the retailer’s website. Once there you can shop as you normally would. However, during the checkout process there will be an area where you can enter a ‘promotional code’ – enter the code here and your discount will be applied immediately.
If the discount is not applied you will need to check that you have entered the code correctly, check that the code is still valid (the expiry date will be displayed clearly on our deals page) and check whether the discount only applies to certain items.
Deals:
Not every bargain requires a voucher, code or magic word! Effective money saving is often about knowing what’s going on and when it’s happening. That’s why Know Your Money’s money savings section will keep you informed of the latest sales and limited-period offers from across the UK.
All of the items marked with the ‘Deal’ symbol require no code or voucher – you just walk into the store or click through to the retailer’s website and start making savings.
These are the simplest type of deals that are featured in our money savings section. However, you still need to check if the deal applies to particular products and check the deal’s expiry date before you starting spending.
