Acorn Car Insurance

Acorn Insurance are a specialist insurance provider, established in 1981. Their headquarters are based in Formby, a Merseyside town in the North West of England, with a number of other offices located across the UK. Acorn offers home insurance but mainly deals with motor insurance, including car, taxi, and van. As well as offering standard car insurance, Acorn provides more specialist insurance for drivers who might find it more difficult to get a good deal, including learners and drivers with convictions. They aim to offer affordable policies that are tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the driver, whether they have a good driving history or a more complicated one. Acorn claims to assess the needs of each individual and provide them with a competitive and personalised car insurance policy.

Customers can choose from the three basic levels of car insurance cover with Acorn: third party only; third party, fire and theft; and comprehensive. Depending on the level of cover customers purchase, they may have access to some extra features including windscreen cover, use of a courtesy car, and cover for driving in Europe. Drivers are then able to build up their policy by adding optional features, such as breakdown cover and key care, depending on what they need for their individual circumstances.

Acorn Insurance also offers a telematics policy for younger and inexperienced drivers, which may help them save money on their car insurance.
