Ageas Car Insurance
Ageas is one of the world’s leading insurers, providing numerous policies across a broad range of categories including cars, homes, pets, vans, businesses, travel, and motorcycles. It started trading in the UK in 1939, but the history of Ageas can be traced back to 1824, to the formation of a Belgian insurer Assurance Générales. In 1990 it took over a Dutch firm to form Fortis, which then became Ageas in 2010. Ageas aims to make the process of buying insurance easy and simple for customers, offering insurance that will protect them should the worst happen.
Ageas offers two levels of comprehensive car insurance, which both cover you in the event of fire, theft, and accidental or malicious damage. Their standard car insurance comes with a variety of features to give policyholders further protection, such as windscreen cover, cover for audio/entertainment systems, new car replacement cover, medical expenses, child car seat cover, personal belongings cover, key cover, and personal accident cover. Ageas’s “Essentials" car insurance is a more basic policy so doesn’t come with as many extras, although it does still have some of these benefits. Both policies may also offer no claims discount protection if the driver meets the necessary criteria.
Some optional features are also available to purchase with an Ageas car insurance policy, such as legal expenses cover, breakdown cover, replacement vehicle cover, personal accident cover, key cover, and excess protection. These can help drivers to tailor their policy to their own needs, as they can choose the protection that is most relevant to them.
Some drivers may have third party cover to drive vehicles other than the one specified in their documents.
