Swinton Car Insurance – Classic
Ken Scowcroft founded Swinton in 1957, starting off as a small local firm. By 1967 they opened their first high street branch and it soon became a more well-known brand in insurance across the UK. Swinton aims to provide a personal approach to selling insurance to its customers, trying to source the cover they need from their panel of insurers. They offer car, home, bike, van, business, taxi, and caravan insurance, and can also cater for ‘higher risk’ profiles such as young or convicted drivers, imported cars, and modified or performance cars.
Drivers can choose third party, fire and theft cover or comprehensive cover with their Swinton classic insurance policy. Both levels of cover come with driver’s legal protection and legal expenses cover, but comprehensive policies come with many more features as standard. For example, they may include medical expenses cover, audio and navigational equipment cover, windscreen cover, use of a courtesy car, personal belongings cover, lock replacement cover, and child seat cover. Drivers may also have cover to drive their car abroad as well as third party cover which allows them to drive other cars.
Swinton policyholders can add breakdown cover and a Protected No-Claim Bonus (if they meet the minimum requirements) to their insurance if they want these extra features.
In addition to their classic insurance, Swinton also offers ‘essential’ and ‘premier’ car insurance policies which provide more basic and more comprehensive cover respectively. For example, Swinton’s premier cover also includes excess refund, a hire vehicle, and misfuel cover, in addition to all the features that come with a classic policy.
