Bell Travel Insurance
Bell, originally called Bell Direct, is an insurance provider that was established in 1997. It initially targeted drivers with zero no claims bonus, but now specialises in providing telematics insurance to help safe drivers save money on their car insurance. Although Bell specialises in telematics car insurance, it does also offer customers some other insurance products, including travel. Bell is a subsidiary of the Admiral Group, a financial services and insurance company that has been operating since 1993. Admiral, which is located in Cardiff, was launched by Henry Engelhardt and has expanded to become one of the leading UK insurance providers.
Bell’s travel insurance can be purchased through Admiral, another subsidiary company of the Admiral Group. It offers three levels of cover for holidays in the UK, Europe, and worldwide, which each have different limits and features. As a standard, these policies generally include cover for emergency medical expenses, personal belongings, personal liability, delays, and if your trip is cancelled or cut short. Depending on the type of holiday, some extra upgrades are available including golf, cruise, and winter sports insurance. These provide additional cover for particular risks such as equipment loss/damage and cruise delay/interruption. Gadget insurance is also available to add on to a Bell travel insurance policy.
These tiers of cover can be purchased for a single trip policy or an annual policy. A single trip policy provides cover for one trip away up to a specified number of days, whilst an annual policy covers you for an unlimited number of trips over one year.
Customers can contact a 24-hour emergency helpline should they need any assistance whilst on holiday.
