Principal Van Insurance
Principal Insurance was founded in 2011 by Dave Bowcock. The broker, which is located in Sale, Manchester, works with a panel of leading insurers to source competitive quotes for vans and other vehicles. Principal aims to find drivers good value insurance that fits their requirements, whatever type of vehicle it is and whatever it is used for.
Principal offers the standard levels of cover: comprehensive; third party, fire and theft; and third party only. These policies are available for vans of all sizes that are involved in all kinds of trades, as well as vehicles reserved for private use. Whether it’s a refrigerated van, a pick-up truck, a 3.5 tonne van, or a small van used by self-employed tradesmen, Principal aims to source a policy that offers adequate protection for each situation. Legal expenses are included with the policies, and some of the more comprehensive policies may include extra features, such as personal possessions cover, windscreen cover, use of a courtesy van, and in-van entertainment cover.
For commercial van drivers, there are policies which can cover their specific needs. For example, they have cover for couriers, both for single vehicles and a company’s fleet, to account for the specific risks associated with transporting contents to many different places. Principal also offers haulage/goods in transit cover (protects third party goods in a van), and carriage of own goods cover (for self-employed people transporting their own items).
